Not about that. About the power trading=ebay statement.

I meant that it's like sitting around all day buying and selling crap on ebay to make money, not that it's like buying gold or GW accounts on ebay. I'm not sure if that's what you're asking... at any rate, I'm just kvetching, I don't mean to start an argument (and breathe new life into this thread).

They can go over that price, if someone is looking for the item he needs, he can overpay for it really. Or just find the right ebayer in ascalon lol.

Oh, okay. I see your point. You're still wrong though :P

It doesn't have anything to do with ebay, it has to do with what other people are and aren't selling.

Power Merchant is deff the best. I remember one of my better trades: I was just standing around in ascalon, storage clear out person sold me an axe for 2.5k, i later sold it for 100K+30Ecto, and Ecto were 10-12K then I do not see and easier way to earn money, you just need a bit to get started.

The part that makes him sick is the person buying the item for cheap knowing the cheap price is its legit price than trying to sell it for 5x the normal price their is. Example: buyin a r9 fellblade for its normal price 20-30k than trying to sell it for 100k+ectos even tho fellblades havent been worth near that much in a year.

Yes powertradeing earns you lots of money, But how does knowly selling something for 5 to 10 times its normal worth make you feel??? do you feel proud you ripped of that person? and yes you did rip them of.

thats probley why he feels sick I know Im not to fond of powertraders they are the ones totaly screwing our economy. whats the noob to GW to think when he goes to ascalon and sees someone selling a fellblade for 100k+20ectos, but than goes to lions arch and sees someone selling the same fellblade for 20k?

i make rubbish money, power selling in my opinion is justtoo slow and boring. Ive heard getting your hands on expensive minis is fun. m mate deals with mini gwens, buying them someitmes for about 90k then ending up with 100k +ectos.
Selling minitatures that are worth 100k + ectos is suppose to be effective as the amounf of ectos fluctuates

sadly people killed it back on page 1 lol and i liked where it was headed...
actualy i need a palce to farm at for my warrior (i dont like UW)
so if anyone can hit me up with some D/ W/ builds/solo it would rock out
(lets bring some life to this beyond dead poor thread..)

I have been playing for about 1 year and i never really had alot of money what money i did make for the 3-5 15k sets i have i got trade/selling
not powerselling exactly more or less buying a crappy modded weapon moding and selling it for aloottt more then do this with a couple weapons and "BLAM!" 100k =D but its risky because im not to great with what somthing is worth so im really looking for a good stable farm area dosnt have to be insain money just somthing quick and easy that i can repeat with out geting too bored..

^Punctuations are your friends.

People only complain about power merchanting because they themselves are dirt poor and wants to do it, doesn't know how, so they are bitter about it and wish it doesn't exist.
Nothing wrong with ripping people off as long as you reap the rewards. Their pain is their problem. As long as you don't suffer, who cares about some random guy losing some virtual money over a video game :/

Powertrading...... Well in general the prices are at the bottom or top of the spectrum, but nevertheless, they are still WITHIN the spectrum.

When/if they find out that they've been ripped they'll get angry/sad, it probably took them lots of time to get that money. A common argument from people who scam (imo) people for lots of money is: who cares? it's just a game!!11!!1 Some people take games seriously and some don't, you can't know that the person you're scamming istn't going to feel very depressed that he just wasted sh*tloads of time farming money only to loose it only to benefit a power-trader, who's way better off than he is money-wise. That's why I say powertraders lack moral understanding.

Personally I don't know how to power-trade, although I (like every one else, probably...) would like to earn fast, easy money, that istn't an excuse to ruin someone elses fun, it's just a game! (^^)

Oh, and generalization is fun indeed!

it's some1s own fault if they get "ripped off" they should learn prices on items they want to buy. Every1 at 1 point buys sumthing way overpriced and then they learn from it. Im sure a powertrader doesnt care if they sold an item for 5x as much to a noob. I feel great when i make extra cash.

Wrong.
The economy isnt so much ruined as is low. And the reason is Anet. IMO when Anet released HM everythin dropped in price.
But back on topic, powermerching and farming UW, FoW, or doing DoA can get u good money

This thread needs a Signet of Resurrection.

I don't recall saying I wasn't a total nefarious guy IRL.

For people having a "moral" (still trying to understand what that is) issue about people powertrading, that's how economy work. Without profit, how do you keep a company running?

And we need to stop telling new people to power merchant. You know those people that ask for 20k for an elite tome? Guess where they got that from :/
